This week’s was one of the most fun episodes of TWiG we’ve ever done. Joined my my Lifehacker pal and Complete Android Guide author Kevin Purdy, Jeff and Leo and I got to talk Facebook, Chipotle, and Google TV. My tip this week was to check out the the new Android gesture keyboard, 8pen, but I gotta admit: after playing with it and a few other alternatives, I’ve settled on SlideIT, a Swype/Shapewriter cousin. I’m with you on 8pen. I still have it loaded but SlideIT is just easier to use. Oh and has for Chipotle talk it made me run down the street and get me one. mmmm Guac.

The 8pen concept seems fundamentally inferior to the swype-like keyboard concept: one gesture per word is always going to beat one gesture per letter.
Gina, have you tried Ultra Keyboard? It has a Swype/SlideIT-like “trace mode” and lots of configurable options. Has pretty well won me over.
