Jason Chen’s excellent review of the iPhone 3GS banished any doubt from my mind that Apple wasn’t kidding about that S: it does stand for capital-S Speed. (Just watch those side-by-side video clips.) But, for a whole lot of folks, the S does NOT stand for savings. As for me, I’m sticking with my HTC G1 running Android. It still has a better native Gmail client than iPhone 3.0. (But I’m not bitter about all that speed or anything.)

I waited in line for a 3G S at my local AT&T store this morning (way faster than the Apple stores, I heard later, especially since I didn’t preorder)… it’s my first iPhone, and it is pretty darn awesome.

Good for you–the iPhone is an incredible device, especially your first. Enjoy it!

Sticking with my G1 too. At least we have our nice keyboards. The video recording on the 3GS is pretty sweet though. Can’t wait for more Android devices to choose from in the future. I love the OS.

Gina,
I too love the G1 still. I just got my fiancee an iPhone and she is all about it but the G1 offers better Google integration, a much more open architecture and offers great sound quality.
I am going to take a look at the new TMo Android phone that is launching in a couple weeks. I’ve already put it on my calendar to make sure I can preorder.
