Moved into a new apartment this weekend (hence the lack of posts recently) and I’m already missing my old home office. Just in time, Argentinian tech blog ALT1040 featured photos of it and my rather stock setup: the Ikea Jerker desk, MacBook Pro, iCurve, and Dell widescreen monitor. Commenters panned the photos (“Esta bastante feo”), but it’s not really the stuff you use, it’s how you use it, right? My new office is currently a jungle of boxes and desk parts, but reassembly is well under way. Rest assured I won’t bore you with new pictures when it is. 😉

Oh come on! There were lots of positive comments as well 🙂
Like my childish and 100% honest “When I grow up I wanna be just like you” (I always say you are my inspiration as a blogger).
Anyway, hope everything’s just great in the new apartment, show us some pictures soon!

Don’t let them get you down, Gina! I like your office. Wish mine was as neat and clean! 🙂

I would encourage you to post pictures of your new home office. I’m a bit of an organizational junkie and I love seeing how other people set up their personal workspace. I always look forward to Unclutterer’s ‘Workspace of the Week’. Good luck with the new apartment.

Hope you are being sarcastic about the photos, it will be interesting.

I don’t think your home office is “bastante feo”. I think it looks nice. 🙂

“Pues es bastante bonito. A mi me gusta mucho.”
That was the 4th comment and my spanish sucks. “you can have too much beauty — to me I like it a lot” I could’ve used babelfish but my version works for me!
I like how it’s very isolated and compact. My computerdesk has my spare pc’s and monitors and my desk that is in use is 10″ deep with room for a mousepad, keyboard, monitor, speakers and beer. We could teach them something about having a dedicated workspace to control distractions. (beer is not a distraction after 5PM)

@Steve Tose:
well you get it pretty close on the translation..
it actually means “Well, it’s very pretty. i like it a lot”

Yeah… my home office is my couch and my coffee table. On purpose. When I’m done, I close up my laptops and stack them on a table in the corner of the room (which doesn’t get used by anything else normally), and voila, work is over. Play time.
In summary: don’t feel bad, it could always be less impressive
