Over on PVRblog today, I got to briefly explain how TiVo changed television for me, alongside some of my favorite web folks. Caterina has my favorite quote: “It’s not hard to find someone to sleep with, it’s hard to find someone you’d WANT to sleep with. It’s not hard to find something to watch, it’s hard to find something GOOD to watch.” Yup, the 2000s were the decade of DVR.

So maybe in the 2010’s there’ll be an invention that’s like the DVR for dating? I don’t think I want to go any further with that analogy.

While I did fall in love with my PVR (and still wonder how I lived without being able to pause live TV) I think the love affair was short lived as I now just watch everything off of Hulu.
Now I can watch what I want, when I want and where I want to. Nothing like catching up on Community in a Starbucks. If it were not for my 16 month old son watching Tree House etc, I would get rid of cable altogether.
But I do agree 100% with your statement.
